Possible tail rot?

Hi all,

My 5 month old has just shed and his tail was last to shed, from what I can see the skin has come off but his tail looks discoloured and the tip is really dry and crispy

Could this be tail rot starting or is that normal after/ during shedding?

Tail rot is the result of some injury or trauma.
You boy's tail looks ok to me also, but like @AHBD said maybe post a couple close ups just to be safe

Hello,

The tail looks good to me. It can look a bit off
when they are getting ready to shed.
He looks happy there!

Thank you all for the support and warm welcome,
Skippy seems ok, off food a little also maybe due to just finishing shedding or possible start of brumation as he is hiding a lot

A close up picture attached, it doesn’t look like it’s got any worse over the last couple of days

There is a very slight difference in the last 1/4 inch or so but it doesn't look bad. Just keep an eye on it if it changes.
