This was my first time that i had fed my beardie waxworms unless they guy at the petsore fed them wax worms to but i dont know why he doesnt eat any more.He has not eaten in 2 days.I think i fed him like 10 or 11 small waxworms. My female seems to like them alot she still eats. But what im concerned in is the male.So please help.
Waxworms are very high in fat so not a good staple worm to feed. Much better choices would be hornworms, silkworms, butterworms or phoenix worms. Usually when they eat waxworms, they don't prefer to eat any other feeder. But, since your male hasn't eaten any live food at all in 2 days, there may be some other issues that are causing it. How old is he? Is he housed with the female? What are your tank temps and what type of a thermometer are you using to check them? What brand & type of UVB light are you using and how close is it to your beardie? Are you supplementing with calcium & vitamins, if so, how often are you using each? Is he well hydrated? Does his beard and/or tail look darker than the rest of him? How is he acting besides the not wanting to eat?
Hi, please fill us in on the UVB you're using, the type of thermometer, the temps, the size of the tank & wattage of basking bulb. That will help us rule out other possible issues too.
