I got my baby beardie a few days ago, he’s been eating normally and been pretty active. when i took him out of his tank today he started opening his mouth for a few seconds, and when his mouth opened it would make a little clicking noise. There’s also some saliva in his mouth when it opens. I don’t have any reptile vets open in my area right now, and my family (who have absolutely no experience on reptiles) are saying that its normal and the vet wouldn’t be able to do anything because hes too young. his tank temp(the hot side where he usually is) goes from 100F to 75F at night, and he has a zoo med desert uvb + heat lighting dual light that sits on top of his cage. what should i do?

First thing it does sound like a possible respiratory infection can you please get a video of him making the clicking noises -- next for a dragon that is in good health the 75 is good at night for a sick dragon I recommend you get a ceramic heat emitter and try and keep your tank around 80- this is going to help his immune system -- next please get a rid of your coil UVB --- you want a long tube fixture like a 24" Zoo Med this will come w/a 5.0 bulb it can be used on tanks that are less than 40 gallon - if your tank is 40 + gallon your going to want a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 bulb --- your surface basking temps should be 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- if he does have a RI he will need to see a vet for antibiotics - what is the humidity in the tank ?

the humidity is usually 30% during the day and around 50-55% at night. i know 55% is probably too high but im not sure how to bring it down. hes asleep atm but i can try to get a video sometime later

Ok the humidity at 55 is fine --- same w/ the daytime --- you dont want humidity below 20% or above 70% -- and I recommend getting a digital probe hygrometer
Please replace the coil that is imperative for your dragon to get well and avoid other illnesses

Hello,

I agree, please do upgrade your UVB light to a long tube bulb instead of a compact/coil light.
For now, try to keep him a little warmer overnight, usually around 75-80F is good. It will help
to boost his immune system to ward off any impending infection. A lot of times, you can avoid
having to medicate for signs of respiratory infection.
Let us know how he is doing.
