To my surprise my fiancé gets home today and brings me two baby beardies who we have named sunkist(she's orange ) and Riley he looks like a standard I'm pretty excited to ad more members to our family?.he says that sunkist was alone in a corner and looked very sad so he had to get her
Thankfully I have a collection of different sized tanks and we went out and bout new light figures heat members a basking light and a UVB..on a good note as well Claudette is looking like she's gaining weight and she is moving around claiming and getting s much better
I think sunkist may have an impaction, she has white urate stuck on the vent I'm thinking it's an impaction I gave her a warm bath but nothing, maybe I'm being over concerned
That's good to hear about Claudette. I hope she continues to improve and thrive!
As for Sunkist, it may just be something left over from poor hygeine by whomever previously had ownership of her. Stores in particular rarely bother to bathe their animals. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless she fails to go for a few days. Just in case though you might want to increase bathing frequency to twice a day to be 100% sure she is hydrated.
Well sunkist I beleive is dehydrated wich is horrible I asked my fiancé and he says the reason he really got her is because she looked horrible in the store tank face in the ground by herself in the corner,he said he knew I could fix her up and give her a chance at life,so he got her,she looked alright when she got here now she is wrinkled like Claudette was when I got her.so she's gotten 4 baths already plus some water via drops on the mouth..the only time shell move is when it gets to hot on their heating and or basking spots then she'll move other than that she'll just lay there and when I pick her up she is just stiff as can be I thought she may have been dead because I couldn't see her breathing, then she decided to wiggle so I know she has some life in her,I must say the Arizona pet store don't care for their animals I'm hoping my new little girl will pull threw,as formriley he is a little hyperactive boy he is running and climbing and eating a lot of small silk worms, and any time anyone goes by his tank he glares at them and chases their reflection
Oh, the poor baby. It's good that she's taken water by dropper, though. That's a good sign. And the stillness may just be because she's so exhausted and overwhelmed by everything that's happened to her. In one short day she's gone from being neglected to entering intensive care! I'm sure she's very weak and is just trying to conserve her energy as much as she can. Hopefully it's not too late for your care and devotion to make a difference. My family has yours in its thoughts and prayers!
At least Riley is in relatively good shape! He sounds like a charmer.
Oh dear. That's terrible news. At least you did the best you could for her. She spent the last hours of her life warm and safe, which is more than could be said for the rest of her life.
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Sunkist At least you were able to show her some love & care in her last days, that's much better than how she would have been treated at that pet store.
I am glad to hear that Claudette is continuing to improve, and that Riley is a healthy baby
