Please help I have a 3 year old male beardie called Terry, he is my absolute world ! He is a rescue. For the last 9 months me and my partner have been making sure he is getting all of the love he needs. I have followed all care sheets that I have to and my uv is correct my heating is correct, I have had him in at the vets for blood test and nothing major came up apart from a few elevated liver enzymes which seem to be on the mend. But recently I have noticed the scales at the tip of his mouth going a different colour like a salmon colour and bubbling a little like a shed but also a little scuffed looking like crusty, the inside of his mouth looks perfect pink and clean and his teeth look brilliant. But the scales on the end of his mouth just don't look right and are becoming a concern. Please if anyone has seen or heard of anything similar please give as much info/ advice as possible. THANKYOU SO MUCH !
That definitely isn't mouth rot.
It looks like he may have rubbed his snout a bit & that those scales are turning whitish to shed.
How long has his mouth looked like that?
You are welcome!
It does take a little bit of time when an area is in preshed. I don't think it will take much longer for that area to shed.
Let us know when it does shed off!
My beardie damaged his nose cap and the scales around it at some point, and now they shed at different times then the rest of his head. Looks just like what's happening to your guy. Hopefully it will shed off soon and all will be well!
