My dragon seems to have a strong urge to dig alot of the time. I have been reluctant to establish a sand section for him, since he's only 10 months old and likes to lick stuff! However, I'd really like to satisfy his digging insticts and was wondering if there is a major risk problem in providing him with sand at his age.
Icygoat, I would hold off until he is over a year in age. Try using a soft towel for him to dig into. I have a blanket (thanks Blondie!) with all of mine, and they will dig and snuggle into those at the end of the day, no worries about any of them getting impacted from sand when they can dig and taste those blankets all they want!
Janie.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried the towel thing before. He buried himself in it and didn't come out to bask, so I removed it. That was only a few days after I got him so he could've just been suffering relocation stress, so I'll try again.
