I'm looking for rocks to use for creating a basking spot + hiding place for my baby beardie. I've considered using natural rocks, but it's winter here and snow is covering anything I might find outside. Any suggestions on where to look? I was thinking of going to a home and garden place and looking around at slate or other "paving" type stone. Ideas?
I live where there is a lot of granite quarries. Would granite make a good stone for a beardie tank? Sometimes you can find partially polished pieces with some smooth sides and some rougher sides.
I got my rocks fro Red Rock Las Vegas I hiked through the canyon grabbed some (even though ur not supposed to) I cleaned them with a 10% bleach solution and baked them at 375 for an hr.
Yeah, I love the look of the red rocks, bu I'm from Vermont, so the closest ill get to red is pink granite. But my mom's friend works in stone cutting and said he'd get some leftovers for me. Heres hoping he finds some nice red rocks. Maybe soapstone?
