I started another thread but was going off topic so started a new thread. My 11 month old girl has just finished her treatment for pinworm and coccadia both low levels I was give baycox and pancur. She hasn't eaten properly now for over a week and pood today which was formed again but hardly anything was her belly is empty. I tried her with 2ml of plant based probotic yogurt today and she ate it all and put some electrolytes in her water but you can tell she is going through a rough time. Has anyone else been through this and got any ideas on what I can do to help her.

Can the yogurt and electrolytes be given everyday?

Thank you all ❤️

Lets have Tracie help w/ this shes the vet tech on the board --- what is the dosage of the meds and how long is she on it for? It is normal for them to have some or low parasites - its when the parasites become to hard to handle thats when meds should be given - if her surface basking temps and UVB are spot on she should be able to keep them under control -- please go over your lighting --- surface basking temps how your getting them and the UVB please NO coils - do you have the results of the fecal so Tracie can look at them?

Thank you,

Was 0.05ml of baycox for two days and then twice again one week later last dose was given last Thursday and Friday. 2 doses of panacur both 0.30ml one given two weeks ago and gave her second dose on Friday so she is done for antibiotics.

She has been on baycox for coccidia and panacur for pinworms. Both were low levels. I have give her 2mls a day plain soya probotics yogurt about 2ml a day some electrolytes in her water. Both have had to drip feed her on her nose but is taking them both. I've been doing both for the past 2 days.

She is very weak and tired, tired feeding her greens and locust and worms but with no success, last time she eaten live was a week ago and been eating like 1 piece of green now and then but last time was about 4 days ago thats why i bought the soya yogurt.

I am thinking of giving her baby food like butternut squash will that help with the yoghurt?

Feel so sorry for poor thing its stressing me out.

T5 14% Arcadia UVB bulb
150 watt arcadia floodlight and jungle dawn led bulb.

Temps
Cold side 27.3c
Warm side 34.4c
Basking temp 43.1c

Sorry I'm from uk work in c

I have 2 temp readers inside the tank and use a temp gun for basking surface.

Tank is 4ft x 2ft x 2ft.

Please come back to me I am so worried and thank you for your help. I have attached her fecal report.

Hello,

How is your girl doing?
Your tank setup sounds very good. Are you able to keep her a little warmer overnight, to help boost her system?
Medications can often take a toll on them causing them to have a decrease in appetite or looser stools, etc.
How much longer will she be on the medications? You can use the yogurt daily for the duration of the medication rounds & keep her on the yogurt for a couple of extra weeks.
The butternut squash would be a great addition to add for her, for nutrition.
If her levels were that low, she probably didn't really need to be treated which is one main reason why she is tired & weak.
Are you able to get food into her using a plastic dropper or syringe?

Let us know how she is doing.

Yes, I keep the temps above 20c in that room anyway at night so her tank is around 21c.

The reason they treated her was because her poo was like mush they said. Her meds finished on Friday last week.

I am going to keep giving her the yogurt and I have made her a smoothie with greens and squash and put pee pollen and electrolytes in it.

She is just very lethargic and weak at the minute.

Thank you for coming back to me ❤️

Hi all,

Just an update. Yesterday I made her a food paste consisting of Kale, collard greens and squash mixed with bee pollen and electrolytes which also contains calcium and d3 in the electrolytes all mixed at the correct quantities. She ate 2ml of that today and ate 0.50ml of the plant based probotic yogurt. She still refused any live food but I suppose it's a start.

I hope I'm doing the right thing at the moment. She is just basking now.

Thank you for your help 🙏

Hello,

How is she doing today?
We all totally understand, it is impossible not to worry about them!
I hope the bee pollen in with her greens helps out for her. Most of them love it. Just getting her the
extra nutrition will help her feel better.
Consider skipping a few medication doses to see if that helps too.

Hi,

Still giving her the yogurt everyday and made her a new butternut squash paste with calcium and bee pollen but no live foods at all it's been over a week since finished her meds.

Is this to be expected?

*disclaimer* Mirage was a 5 yo rescue. We took him for a checkup and the vet said based on his numbers he would have died within 3 weeks if we hadn't of brought him in.

When Mirage had pinworms and coccidia it took him about a week and a half to start eating bugs again. I asked my vet and she said it's normal. I did notice that taking him out of his tank and allowing his roaches/worms to run from him encouraged him to eat. It would have been a week and 3 days when he ate his first bug. I had dusted the roach (dubia) with calcium and bee polled, then set it in front of him. When he saw it running he chased after it and crunched it up. After the first bite he ate 4 more. Give it time, she'll get back to her normal self!

It’s been a month since I’ve joined bd.org! It feels like it’s been longer than that, but I’m glad I’m here and apart of this lovely community!
I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
bro went to bed already, it’s 10:36 pm
Definitely going to be using this image if I ever catch a fence lizard again.
