I've been researching what to feed my BD when he arrives, and I stumbled upon the nutrition chart. If any body has more info on Phoenix worms I am highly interested! Also the alfalfa plant, is it possible to feed it dry or does it have to be a fresh living plant? Dandelion Greens are also a feed that I would like to learn more about as well, or would collard greens be a more nutritional feed for a BD? Thanks, I just want to give my BD the best I can!
Pheonix worms are an excellent feeder, as are silk worms. Both are soft bodied and are naturally high in all the nutrients so dusting is not needed. As far as pheonix worms go beardies usually either hate them or love them. Mine personally won't touch them in comparison to silk worms which they love. Pheonix worms are the easiest to care for though!
There have been instinces where beardies are eating the worms so quickly that they aren't chewing them up properly and are not digesting them. There have been cases where full sized worms come out in the poo. But I would feed and just watch out for this. So long as your temps are right and they are getting enough time to digest they shouldn't have this problem.
