Hello...

I have read a lot of people buy these worms for their beardies. I have been hunting for them but cannot find them anywhere. Not even at our Reptile store!! Surprising considering this city is home to the Reptile Man, Paul Kennedy and home to Popcorn the huge Albino Burmese Python.

So, that being said, we live in Hamilton, Ontario Canada and I have even looked in Toronto for these worms to no avail. Is there anyone that can help me in this area find some of these fabulous worms? I want what's best for these two beardies and I am not sleeping well at night because of those loud abnoxious crickets!! I beg of you, HELP, please, please HELP. I don't know how much longer I can go on with these crickets. :banghead:

We have been tying some other worms with them to see if they like them. They like the superworms and they gobble them up. We have some butter worms in the fridge for them for tomorrow's feeding.

Thanks

Their popularity is growing pretty quickly. The petco here sells calciworms, which are the same thing, but way more expensive. You only get like 25 in a tub just smaller than the pw tubs. Do you order your feeders online? More and more online retailers are selling them too. I'm not at all familiar with Canada, but I know that phoenixworm.com (which where they all originate from, anyway) does ship up there (I think there is a special link on their page), but if that doesn't work, look around for Calciworms.

phoenixworm.com sells them with free shipping as well
I bought my first pw from a reptile show and my beardie loves them.... they were cheaper at the show 4 bucks for tub of 100.

For what it's worth, I purchased PW's from a different vendor online at first and then purchased a larger batch from PhoenixWorms.com and I have to say - go with PhoenixWorms.com!!

The first place I bought them from, the worms were supposed to be mediums and I found they were all different sizes. Not to mention, I highly doubt there was 100 in each cup, especially when at least 25% of them were black and half dead.
The batch I just got, today, from PhoenixWorms.com is awesome!! The worms are ALL mediums, in every cup, and the cups are PACKED!! I personally thought the Customer Service was top notch too. I exchanged several emails with pw.com and the people were extremely nice and polite. I ordered the worms on Sunday, there was a mix up with the payment and that was straightened out on Monday. They were shipped on Tuesday and I had them waiting for me when I got home tonight!!
I can't say enough good things about them!

No one sells them here yet, sorry to say. You can order them but be prepared to open your pockets really wiiide. Excluding shipping, your minumum order has to be %100.00

I have seen the minimum order of $100.00, that's why I am inquiring to see if I could get them someplace else. I don't want to spend a hundred bucks on Phoenix worms unless I know my beardies will eat them and even then, how long do they last because that would be well over 1,000 worms. I have advertised on my local craigslist to see if anyone else in the area has Beardies (which I'm absolutely certain there is) and to contact me. I was going to see if someone wanted to go half on an order and go from there. So, if anyone on this forum is from the Hamilton area, please don't hesitate to contact me. I also commute to Toronto weekdays for work. (that will broaden the area a bit)

I have moved the crickets down into the warm basement where the 17 year-old sleeps. He says how can you not sleep well with the crickets noise? WHAT? 17 year old boys are weird anyways...

Thanks everyone!! :)

Thats my prob aswell, apart from them being so pricey. My brian is such a picky eater that i cant gamble with that kind of money...For that price i could get two fecal exams done.

Special note to Canadian customers: We're very sorry that customs restrictions prevent us from shipping Phoenix Worms directly to customers in Canada. We do have two distributors in your country and both sell to pet stores as well as online. Bug Order in Alberta and Recorp in Toronto obtained the necessary permits to import this feeder. There does not seem to be a minimum order requirement at http://www.bugorder.com. You could also email either distributor and ask whether they supply PWs to a pet store near your home. We hope that you'll be able to try some soon.

Sorry I don't have any advice. But your post gave me this mental image of an adult Burmese Python just chowing down on tens of thousands of PW every day. I can't stop giggling. :laughhard:
