That is beyond abysmal. That was done by someone who doesn't care and obviously doesn't get correction for doing their job poorly. Whoever the shipper is should have rejected that packaging as inadequate as well. I am so sorry there are multiple people from different places, beating the odds to maximize their incompetence creating a greater disaster than any single not caring or lazy employee alone could do
We've had it. Petco wanted us to open the box and take pics of the shattered bulb. With animals in the house, potentially pulverized glass, and gosh knows what kind of toxic stuff inside, we told them we don't think so--just gently lifting the box sounds like wind chimes.
DW is on the phone now trying to negotiate a full refund, and going through LLLReptiles. Finnerz crossed again. (Yes, she's a saint)
ADDENDUM:
DW just got off the phone, and it turns out LLLReptiles is in CA--not NJ like ZooMed told us.
She said she's now losing hair. Does that promote her from saint to martyr?
Can anybody recommend a reputable company in the Northeast where we can order a 34/36" Reptisun 10.0 HO T5 bulb (or 2)?
Try Pangea Reptile. My bulbs get packed extremely well and all came in good condition. Before that I used Dr. Foster + Smith for years with not one problem but for some reason they went out of business or at least no longer sell reptile bulbs.
Just buy it here. It’s sold by a reptile company and fulfilled by amazon. And if you have prime you can get it quick. I’ve literally never had any issues ordering my bulbs and fixtures from amazon.
Big Apple Herp is out of New York State, but it's got really mixed reviews. Some people love it, others hate it. I ordered from them once and had no problem, but as you say, YMMV...
