I work at a pet store now, been there for a couple of months. Last week, we got some new reptiles in the other day, including an adult Beardie. Well, he has some problems. He hardly eats anything but otherwise acts normally. I just thought he was just trying to get use to new surroundings which was why he didn't eat, but that's not the case. About a half hour ago, I saw his lips were shedding, and I gently peeled the skin away like I do for my 3 at home; however when I peeled the scales away, there was no scales there! Just a patch of white skin. On the same side, there are black spots. Could it be mouth rot?
The pet store owner doesn't want to take him to the vet, so I need to know if there are any home remedies to help.
I just got off work before reading your post (the boss allowed me to put up this topic when I was there), but I'll head back after I'm done at my other job and take a picture.
Why doesnt the pet store owner want to take him to the vet? Wouldnt he rather make sure he is healthy before selling him than sell a possibly sick beardie to someone? And I know you peel the shed back for your other 3 but from what I read, it is best NOT to do this.
