Alright i had just about enough of my puff producing black spots. I have taken him to the vet and the vet scratched at the spot and then told me he couldnt tell me what it was. He said if the spot isn't spreading i shouldnt be concerned, and i told him IT IS!! and he did nothing, threw some medicine at me and told me to give it to him. I have no idea what thsi medicine is and Puffin is absolutly repulsed by it he'll be mad at me for days after i try giving to to him and he wont even talk to me so i have just stopped forcing it to him. I know they are not normal spots. I've had puff long enough to know they are not a part of his pattern but they are spreading.
It started as a black scale under his belly, then he got one on his side, then i noticed the one on his tummy spreading much larger, then he got one on his leg, and his nose, now one on his beard. I have searched everywhere for answers and nothing!!!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS IS!!!
p.s- I doubt they are freckles by the way they are producing out of no where.
i am not very knowledgable at any of this, at all ....... but if i pitched in my opinion id say it looks like a fungus??? did they test for that? Hope you can get some answers and your baby gets better.....
first lets rule out some things...does he poo in his tank and is it possible its poo or food stuck to his scales...try a bath with a baby soft toothbrush and see if it is removed. If not then I would take him and have fungal/bacterial/viral infections ruled out.
ITS ABSOLUTLY NOT FECES. HE GETS BATHED ALMOST DAILY. AND HES VERY SANITARY HE NEVER USES THE WASHROOM IN HIS TANK HE ONLY EVER GOES IN THE BATHTUB. I HAVE RUBBED IT, IT IS NOT RAISED, YOU CAN'T FEEL IT BECAUSE ITS FLAT. IT DOESNT BOTHER HIM EITHER WHEN I TOUCH IT. IT DOES NOT COME OFF WITH SHEDDING. AND THEY ARE NOW MORE THEN THE ONE ON HIS BELLY.
HES NOT STRESSED, OR UNHAPPY. HE HAS A VERY LUXURIOUS LIFE. NOT HOUSED WITH ANYONE ELSE. HAS A 200 GALLON TANK ALL TO HIMSELF AND I CARE FOR HIM PROPERLY. HE HAS PROPER LIGHTING AND I NEVER LET INSECTS WANDER IN HIS TANK. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE.
Just to entertain us here, next time you give him a bath, just use a soft toothbrush and see if it comes off. One of my lizards had something like that and I was sure it was NOT feces but 2-3 baths later it was no longer there.
The only other thing I can think of is a cricket bite which is healing
