So a few of you might know Ozzie as I was panicking on here the first few days I got him, he’s a rescue and he has a lot of wounds on him. I took him to the vet and they took a biopsy to test for yellow fungus (as I am not taking any chances with my precious little man) he took the surgery well and he came home last night and the poor guy has 3 stitches. I’m putting on silver cream twice a day and so far he’s just been sleeping (my guess is he’s still a little sedated) the doctor said his fat stores were low so I am especially concerned about getting him eating soon. He did not eat today obviously because he is exhausted, but when should I go about trying to feed him again? They gave me some critical care nutrition stuff to try and get more veggies in him but I don’t want to push him too much as the poor man has been through a lot!
Do you have pictures of Ozzy now, is he doing well?
It will take him a few days most likely to feel normal after surgery. Just be sure he is well hydrated & it's ok to let him rest awhile, too.
You should keep him on soft foods for a bit so he doesn't have to work so hard for food. Maybe
give him a day or two just to let his system normalize some before feeding him.
The silver cream should help for his skin. When will the yellow fungus test come back?
