Well they can impact smaller beardies. How big is your beardie? Also the ratio of "the good stuff" to the shell is not that high, so they aren't all that healthy. ...do you have a local Petsmart or something where you can get crickets?
im using mealworms and wax worms right now Im waiting on my order of pheonix worms to come in in 2 days and my beardie desided he just doesnt like crickets anymore, and all he will eat are wax worms and mealworms. Little bugger! so im going to try pheonix worms and maybe he will think they are wax worms haha. But he isent eating that much eather, maybe 5 meal worms and 4 waxies a day. Personally i would feed more wax worms then mealworms (like not over 5 or 6 meal worms) to much can cause impactation. Atleast the wax worms are soft. Fatty, but he wont die if i feed him them over the next couple days. I live in a small town and bugs are had to come by, min selection. but also it depends in the size....... my guy is 11 1/2 in long........some people may say diffrent but thats my oppinion.
Hope it helps
2 weeks? wow..... you cant try and order even some pheonix worms or butter worms or silk worms or smaller hornworms.....they can all be fed as a staple....i just ordered pheonix worms and they only took 3 days to get ..... buuuuut if not...... keep a eye on him with the meal worms but yeah no more then about 5 or 6..feel his belly for any starting signs of impactating, my lil guy never had any problums...and just keep a eye that he is pooping...but i dont thik you should have a problum.
as for the waxies, yeah keep feeding him those but mix it up. If you can go down to he grocery store and buy some chicken or turkey baby food (I forgot to mention in my reply above but this is what i also have been doing) then he gets some other type of protin...my guy likes the sweet potato and turkey...but make sure you look at the ingerediants and all it will have is turkey, sweet potato and water....no added sugers...which most of them dont but just check. this way it just mixes things up a bit and they get there veggies. heat it up and put some calcium in in and feed with a eye dropper, or from a spoon.
Yeah it sucks when you can get feeders. Living in a small town im feeling for yeah.....
