So i am going to be needing a couple new habitats because I'll be investing in a couple new beardies in the next little bit. I was looking at some of the different habitats that are 4x2x2 front open. They are all kindda pricey, and it occurred to me that i have an empty two level ferret cage. (Good luck keeping that warm huh) Well i decided to repurpose it into a beardie condo. This is the results for the first day of renovation.
The panels are made of birtch so none toxic. It has plastic trays, but i think i may order the Zen habitat mats to put over them. I'll be glassing in the doors today. I'm open to any suggestions or critiques
Day two, I've got the doors glassed in and cable management in place. Still have to install the uvb, the basking decor, and floor mats. Then it's time to start on the bottom enclosure. I'm fortunate that the height will allow me to hang lights in the bottom, so no struggling with lights
Here are a couple pics of todays work. (I still have to dress the silicone on the doors)
You can also see how the panels are attached, if i decide i need it back as a cage its easy to revert it back.
I never ever ever ever ever ever ever want to hear that Rocky is spoiled. This takes the cake. I love it! How creative!!!!!The extra miles that we go to for our beardies!!!
These were a lifesaver when Rocky was younger. Do you find that the beardies get too heavy for them as they age?
Rocky lost interest in everything- the enclosure- he just wants to be a human>
This is my new girl Sweet Pea she got the top bunk lol.
I went into a reptile shop to get more vines and left with a beardie lol. But in my defense she is hypo, trans, dunner, which are all gentics i want to work with.
