hi all, i have had my baby beardie for a few days now and did not know it was going to be this hard to take care of one, hydrating, catching crickets, cleaning and last one very annoying thing POOP! how do you guys clean your beardie's poop without mucking about in the enclsoure, replacing substrate(paper towles) moving things etc... i understand from reading this forum that moving things around in the viv can caus stress to a baby beardie even adult ones so how do you guys keep your viv clean?

In time they just get used to it. Switch to non adheasive shelf liner or tile and cleanup is a snap. If a couple crickets stay in the viv over night it really isnt that big a deal.
Hope this helps.

I have tile in the bottom of my viv, but usually he manages to poop all over his basking branch and the bottom of the tank, so I just take him out (I do this anyways at night) and hold him on my shirt while I clean his cage out. If its really dirty I simply pass him off to someone else to watch while I give it a good scrub. Good luck!

I generally watch to see that Smurf and his crickets are staying out of it. If they are I let it sit in the heat, and wait for it to dry, then get it with a cat litter scoop.

I feel ya. I am the same way. I have been bathing mine daily for the past week, for like 10-15 minutes, and Alex has finally started going poo in his bath. I'm so excited. Saves me from taking everything out and changing the paper towel every day. I was so worried I was gonna stress him out. Try bathing...

Huego normally goes on the same 2 tiles. And he'll go about 2-3 times before i come home. I have a box of baby wipes i use during the week and then while i give him a bath on the weekend i'll take those 2 tiles out and scrub them down and under them if needed. put them back in, make everything look the same and by the time i'm done, so is the bath! :) He's pooped a couple of times in the bath but i think that was just lucky coincidence since i work all day and can't get him on a bath poo schedule! LOL

Yup, that's what i do too. Mine usually poops in the same general area so i just line that area with some newspaper and just take out the paper afterwards.

u dont..... baby beardies poop ALOT and i use shelf liner for my babies and for my adults i have tile but when the adults go its east dont have to move anything but the babies i have to rip the whole cage apart and then get all crix out and put it back together i do it every night that way it fresh for him in the morning i guess its something you will just have to get use to

mine usually poops on his basking rock under the heat lamp so that everyone else can get a good wif then runs to the other side of his viv , I'll just take the rock out and hose it off to clean it up

I hear you, taking care of one bearded dragon is taking more of my time than taking care of my 12 snakes lol. You do get use to it though, I use reptile carpet for now and cleaning the poop isn't so hard, its just dealing with the smell. I bought that healthy habitat cleaner that helps reduce odors in enclosures so I spray that on the poop and use a napkin to clean. As for crickets that arent eaten, I use a bug vacuum to catch them all.
