is it normal to sleep standing up, leaning against the side of the tank??? he did it last night his first night here, and also is sleeping like that now....just turned off lights 10 min or so ago....he doesn't do that during the day, just to sleep....??????? it's weird!
ok great, thanks! looks so odd! lol i was just wondering, as he hasn't had a bowel movement yet, i was hoping there was no problem there. not sure when his last one was, i have had him just over 24 hours, i emailed the guy i got him from a bit ago to ask. not sure how often they are supposed to go, but he eats well and very alert. oh the trials and tribulations of being a new beardie mom! lol
Vash goes once a week in his bath...better than the tank...it's good
that you ask the guy you got him from to ask when was the last time he
went. As long as he didn't intake any sand he should be ok.

yeah, well the tank has a layer of sand in it....grrrrr....i cant get it out till i have a place to put rocky while i clean it out, which will be tomorrow. i'm gonna get one of those sterlite containers to use as a tub for him since i have no bathtub and my sink is small. so in the meantime today i covered all the sand with paper towels until i can scoop it out of there. some places i have read sand is fine, others say no it's bad to use....i prefer NOT to use it for that reason.....
his tail is also shedding, so i figure a bath would hopefully help all the way around. i know he said he was really friendly, but he sure hisses and gets puffy when i pick him up.....i just say u have no choice, we are going to be friends! once i stroke his chin or top of his head when i am holding him he's ok. i can pet him in the tank with no prob, it's just picking him up he gets testy
Well you should continue to pick him up then, just make sure when you do, you scoop him from underneath his belly
and make sure none of his legs are dangling he'll feel as if he'll fall, it worked for my son. (yes I call Vash son )

Well when you do get the sand out try getting tile or repti carpet, and I have had troubles with sand myself
he always got impacted, so I switched to repti carpet.

am kind of holding off on buying the carpet till i get him a bigger tank. which hopefully will be soon, looking for a good deal on one. then it will be his permanent home, and i can get it set up with the carpet and such.
if there IS an impaction, what do u do to get rid of it??
I usually give him a bath it always worked for me.
Just gently rub him from armpit to vent, underneath his belly of course..
and make sure the water is lukewarm, just not too hot or too cold, not gonna say like a baby bath...I never
had kids myself just bugs, reptiles, fish and plants.
