Is it ok for my baby beardie to be without either of these for a short time..(hoping here) while waiting for his worms to come?
I put those pellet things soaked in water in a dish for him & some carrots, which im not sure if he is eating either one? Not the veggie type dragon.
thanks
Go to the pet store and pick up some crickets if you can. Also, make sure you are at least offering greens. Try different types, every dragon has different tastes. Dandelion and turnip greens get very strong responses from my guy, as does raw grated butternut squash.
hes little, about 6&1/2 inches. Do feed him greens, dandelions, used to love those. Hasn't eaten them yet, gave to him yesterday.
I ordered the worms from floridaherps which said they ship every Mon & Wed. hoping they come soon.
At such a small size he should be eating ALOT. If you can get to a pet store tomorrow, you should go. A few days without food probably won't kill him, but then again a few days without food wouldn't kill you either. You would be miserable though, and depressed and stressed out. You need to plan ahead with feeders and make sure that you have a steady supply of them as well as make a back-up plan in case the usual thing falls through. This is a time for the back-up plan. Petstore crickets are fine, just make sure that you gutload them for an hour or two before feeding. My crickets get nature zone beardie bites, and water crystals.
I think if it is only for a few days, just the pellets would be ok. I know a lot of people who have dragons that have pellets as their staple and get crickets and live feeders only as treats. I don't agree with doing this, however if it is just for a few days I think it is ok.
