Nutrition and weight maintenance Kai style

Kai was out of his enclosure earlier and I gave him one superworm as a reward. Well, he must have been really hungry because he wasnt getting any more today so he roamed his enclosure hunting isopods (doubt he found any since I havent replenished what he ate in the past. But, he was actively hunting, digging for them and everything. Then, he went over to his veggie bowl, ate a large mustard green, some arugula, and a bunch of grated peeled zucchini! I am thrilled...he really ate a decent amount. I weighed him today to see if he is losing or gaining and he is maintaining his weight very well..447 grams today. So they really do eat a decent amount of veggies if they are hungry enough.

That worked out well for you and for Kai....for you to see him actively looking for more insects because you triggered his little lizard cognitive abilities and ended up with him enjoying lots of good, healthy greens.

Kai sounds so healthy and active! Do you have any tips on encouraging a picky eater beardie to eat more greens? I'm struggling a bit with mine.

Well, I totally understand! Its been a struggle for me too. How old is your beardie?
