So, chris took Nova to uga today. First off, the stuff the vet was telling him was different than she told me.
She told me to referr to my local vet and when I told her we did, and she wasn't concerned, but that was also a few days prior to that phone call. She weighed 815 at our local vet and when I called uga, she was weighing at 825. She was like, "well that's weird but without seeing her, I can't tell you much of anything definitely. So if you want, you can make an appointment and we'll look at her and see". And she asked about her bugs. I explained we were giving her one bug for the meds and another one or two to wash her mouth out with because they're gross and I didn't want to ruin her taste for hornworms. At that time, the vet said that was fine. It got her to take her meds no problem.
But now, at the vet, she's telling Chris that it's not fine at all, and she should only be eating the bugs twice a week, and only a couple each time. So, like a total of six bugs a week and only suggested an appointment because I "sounded frantic". So, she pretty much threw me under the bus and told Chris totally different stuff.
But, they did an ultrasound/probe to make sure no bit of ovaries were left behind or any follicles, and there wasn't any follicles, either. They said she looked great and whatnot and then they weighed her on their scale. Leaving surgery, she was 864, today, (on their scale) she was 814 and we're actually a little concerned with the loss so she said once a week, she can have whatever she'll eat for 30 minutes. They don't want her loosing more than like 6 grams a month. But otherwise, they're unsure of the weight gain/loss and are otherwise not real concerned.
