The first night went decent. Monday she weighed 790, leaving the hospital she was at like 860. They weren't sure why, they thought it could be the fatty liver acting up and the fluids they gave her during surgery. Today, she weighed 800g even and pooped and I swear it was like watching a guy pee the way it came out. 😲 she ate a few bugs, a couple bites of salad and is pretty alert. She desperately wants to run around but she can't just yet.
It sounds like she us going to be ok 👌 🙂 I'm super happy things went well 🙂

Great news! I'm glad she has a great appetite, I think she's recovering quickly.

Great to hear that she's doing well, alert and active ! Almost bullet proof so far. :) The liquid poo would probably be all the meds., liquids + changes to her body recently. Don't feed her too much at first after this massive surgery, let the belly area rest + not do too much work digesting until a week or 10 days has passed.

Second day home and we're already screwing up. We gave her meloxocam earlier and we're getting ready to give her her tramadol. I noticed the dosage was 0.3 for tramadol and 0.03 for meloxicam so I started questioning it. So we gave her 0.3 meloxicam, not 0.03. And because I started questioning that, I questioned weather we gave her tramadol instead and didn't realize it because the bottles are exactly the same and the meds look real similar. So, I can either cause her harm by giving her her dose of tramadol and accidentally doubling up or I don't give her tramadol because I'm being an ***** and have pushed myself into uncertainty and she be in pain the next two days until she can have it again. 😰😮‍💨 I've no idea what to do.

It should be O.K. Those things should be more clearly marked because many people do this. Don't offer another dose of either until tomorrow, she should be O.K

Is it possible to weigh or measure the remaining medicine in the bottles to understand which one you took the portion from?

Not really because they're such tiny bottles with such tiny amounts because they're only for a couple days. The meloxicam does have a yellowish hue but like, I don't remember what it looked like at like 10am this morning

Perhaps you haven't thrown away the syringe yet and there is some yellowish medicine left in it?

Her tramadol is supposed to be every 48 hours. If i did give her a full dose of tramadol, by the bottle, she couldn't have another dose until sunday

Okay, maybe I don't know exactly how many bottles you've used, but if you've only opened one for each medicine and want to get to the bottom of it, I'd do it this way...
Medicines always have their exact volume or number of doses indicated. You can take one portion of the medicine with a syringe and pour it into some container. Do this several times and you'll count how many portions are left in each bottle. One bottle will be missing one portion.
So, you can accurately measure the volume even in a small bottle with a syringe.

@acidburn01 Heyyyyy my baby was spayed yesterday. They thought there were 20 eggs but there ended up being 55. All I can say is WOW at the $1508 total. I paid $1240. But between her leg in March and this surgery this year I think I’ve spent over $2k.

When I picked her up her beard was blacker than I have ever seen it. It was still black this morning but not as much. She was also 40grams lighter. She was prescribed the same medicine and go back in a week and again at the 6 week mark to determine if the stitches are needed the additional 2 weeks. No food for her until tomorrow or Sunday and she’s is in a hospital setup tank. Meaning nothing for her to climb. Anyway we send healing wishes you guys way.

Oh man, it sounds like she's having a rough time. They told us Nova could eat the next day and she's acting like she's starving but we're only giving her a couple bugs so not to hurt her stomach. They also said she can be in her normal tank, with her normal basking spot to climb up onto. She goes back in a week to get her stitches checked, then again in like another three weeks, and then removed the week of Christmas.

It's crazy how different our discharge info is

Yea they said they didn’t want nothing that could potentially bust open the stitches and it has to be like for the full 6weeks. It did also take her longer than expected to come to. With them removing 55 eggs I want her to take her time healing.

Oh I don't blame you. Nova laid 55 her first infertile clutch and then 10 days later, laid another 30. It's worrisome going through this but I'm glad it's over and they're on the mend.
