I hope so, too. They said because she did well and was already awake, they're optimistic about her going home tomorrow early afternoon. Then her life is in our hands, essentially. I'm a tad worried about aftercare, they said the incision is about 2/3rds the length of her belly, which is... daunting, at best. 😰😮‍💨😰

You got this 👍. Ain't no way your going to give up or over look anything. She couldn't be in better hands (even if they are a nervous wreck😉)

The cuts are usually that big. They look kind of shocking of course but b.d's usually do just fine.

Hello,

That is correct, the incisions are normally that long. It will heal but will take some time. They should
give you some antibiotic cream or some type of salve to go onto it to help with healing.
I am happy to hear that she is doing well after the surgery, that's great news!

Naturally, I had a dream last night where her stitches came open.😮‍💨

But they called last night and said she did okay and we can pick her up at 5 to bring her home

Good deal 🙂
Currently sitting and waiting to pick up Nova. We paid the remainder bill. Our deposit was 300$ and we owed a remainder of 162. The total bill was 462$ and we couldn't figure out why, especially as we looked at the invoice.

And then we saw on the bottom of the list on the last page was a "spay/neuter discount" of 1500 dollars. 😲😲 i don't know why, but holy moly i wasn't expecting it. I'm just glad to be finally picking her up. I was looking over her discharge papers and there was a part that said "additional vital parameters" and it said her weight was "764g (discharge weight of 860)" and i cant figure out what's made her supposedly gain 100g in three says.??

I GOT MY NOVA BAAAACCKK. 🥰🥰 They said she's been kinda active this afternoon and was pretty orange when they brought her out to us. They showed the incision, gave her meloxicam and tramadol and want her sitches checked in a week, then another two weeks from then and then have them removed at the end of December.

Hooray! I've been following your thread with bated breath. I'm so glad Nova is with you and everything is going well. I believe that once she gets home she'll quickly get back to normal. :giggle:

I hope so. They said being in her own tank will help promote healing and judging by the fact that they said she was active this afternoon, wanting to walk around and stuff, she shouldn't have too difficult of a time with healing. Fingers crossed. I'm so glad to be going home. 😌

Gorgeous as always 😍
I'm so happy for your family that everything went ok 🙂
I know your anxiety level has been off the charts (and who can blame you). It is weird she supposedly gained 100 grams though. Maybe a misprint?

Of course, it was a lot of stress for her. And being at home is what she needs right now.

Hello,

Bless little Nova! I concur....I hope her egg troubles are gone forever now.
I'm sure that she is so happy to finally be home! I Hope she heals up quickly, too. Her colors do look
very nice, so hopefully she isn't in too much pain.
That is a huge discount for you, how nice of them to do that for you!

The first night went decent. Monday she weighed 790, leaving the hospital she was at like 860. They weren't sure why, they thought it could be the fatty liver acting up and the fluids they gave her during surgery. Today, she weighed 800g even and pooped and I swear it was like watching a guy pee the way it came out. 😲 she ate a few bugs, a couple bites of salad and is pretty alert. She desperately wants to run around but she can't just yet.
