Nova has become very sick

That is so frustrating -- do you have the packaging it came in? If its sunny and warm where you are get him outside for good UVB till the other one comes

Yeah, I've got the package. I don't have any way to test if the light is fine or not. But I'll consider ordering the other fixture....

Well he somehow fell on his back and couldn't right himself! I was able to rescue him and he seemed ok after that. I'm assuming he's having problems from not getting strong enough uv light.
I am working on getting another one. But I'm not sure if it will help nowe, if its too late.

Put everything low for basking - keep him on the floor of the tank as much as possible -can you get him outside? do you still have the T 8 --how old is that bulb?

I've removed the basking platform and just have the lower ones in there for now.
He seems calmed down now, so I think its in the morning I have to watch him.
Unfortunately its in the low 50's here so too cold to take him outside.

I have not yet received the replacement one. The one I got short-circuited or something as soon as I turned it on!

I got the sunblaster nanotechnology fixture. It is apparently defective so I put the old fixture back in, but the t8 dosn't fit that one

It's a T 5 fixture. I thought that was good enough and also it was less expensive.

Fixture is good -- the bulb you ordered was defective or the fixture itself? The T 5 bulb will not go in your old T 8 fixture -- bulbs are different -- dont you have the old setup still?

Sorry that I'm not explaining this well. I got confused myself now. So the new fixture shorted out. I have no way to test if the bulb works. The old fixture is not compatible with the new bulb and the old bulb is not strong enough. Old light and fixture are T 8, new is T 5 but shorted out.

ok so are there stores around you that carry the Reptisun 10.0 T 5 bulb? Or the Arcadia 12% 24 watt bulb? That will also fit that Sunblaster fixture

Last time I checked they didn't have T 5, that's why I ordered one online. Anyway I am pretty sure the T 5 fixture shorted out.
