Hello,

I think I have a tank similar to yours, and I had the same problem. I ended up using heavy-duty double-sided velcro to help hold the UVB light in place. Its holding very well on my tank, hope this helps!
Maybe, I'm starting to feel it may be too late though. And that nothing I do will help now.

It's never too late to try! My baby bearded dragon is battling respiratory infection and coccidia, but we're doing everything we can to help him recover. As long as you put in the effort, you won't have any regrets.

I'll see about velcro or something.

Hello,

How is your little one doing, any improvements yet?
Keep trying, it does take them awhile to recover when
they are critical.
Keep us updated on him.

Nova doesn't look very good today and also wouldn't eat for the second day in a row now.
So I was able to tie the uv fixture up with some twine I found. Kinda makes me nervous as I wonder if the uv will corrode away at the string over time?
So thats the best I can do, I don't know if he will get better or if its just going to be his time as he's lost a lot of weight in the past week.
I do wonder if the uv light itself is damaged? The fixture I first put it in short circuited! Then I got a new fixture. The only way I can think of to tell is putting my arm in there for an hour and see if I get a sunburn!

Hello,

Well, the UV light could be bad, that does happen. If your fixture short circuited initially then it could be
causing the light to emit the wrong frequency. The only way to know for sure would be to get a new
light fixture, or to get a UVB meter to measure the output.
Is he still avoiding the light?
Maybe for the moment, turn the UVB light off & just use a basking light. Are you feeding him slurries
using a syringe to help him out if he isn't eating on his own?

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
