Get him where he is most comfortable --- I recommend getting him into the vet --Ok, so Nova hasn't been getting any better. He's slowly looking worse. Been black bearding more.
Unfortunately I had to resort to putting the wood up like this again. He actually doesn't seem to like it up there. Also he does appear to be happier when far away from the uv light or even shaded from it. Also his last two poops where kinda hard, but I forgot to get a photo.
I'll see what I can do. Oddly he looks worst in the morning. I'm going to try keeping him warmer at night and also thinking about puting the more powerful heat light back in.Get him where he is most comfortable --- I recommend getting him into the vet --

At night its been getting to 64 in the house. He's been sleeping on top of a folded towel over a heat mat. In the morning I check him and he's in the 70's up to 80.Dont over heat him -- no higher than 110 surface basking temp- what are the ambients temps at night?
I would invest in a CHE -- dragons heat from their backs not stomachs -- see if you can get ambient temps around 80 at night-At night its been getting to 64 in the house. He's been sleeping on top of a folded towel over a heat mat. In the morning I check him and he's in the 70's up to 80.

He is about 12 inches from the uv tube. I can get him to about 8 inches from it, but he doesn't seem to like it up there. He seems to prefer being out of direct view of the light.Hello,
Sorry to hear Nova doesn't seem to be getting any better. How close is he to the tube bulb?
His temperatures sound like the should be on range.
A vet visit would be a good idea.
Let us know how things are going.

You dont want him any closer than 12" for a T5He is about 12 inches from the uv tube. I can get him to about 8 inches from it, but he doesn't seem to like it up there. He seems to prefer being out of direct view of the light.
Anyway I suspect he has bad genetics, I guess bearded dragons are just being overbred.
Oh the light is on top a screen, thats why I was trying to get him closer. You dont want him any closer than 12" for a T5
