Hello,

They sure can get moody sometimes. Double check his temperatures just to be sure they are all
correct in case he might not be warm enough, or even too warm.

Tracie
Yeah, the temps seem pretty consistent. He gets into the low 90's under the basking spot and in the 80's outside it. Also in the 70's when he's hiding.

Ok, an evening update about Nova. Since his illness, he's stabilized but not actually gotten back to how he was before. Also its been a few weeks now and the new uv light seems to have had little or no effect on his health. For some reason his back legs have lost muscle it seems. Also when he closes his eyes they look sunken in. He also has dark bear (but not black) for most of the day. It used to go away if I took him out, but it really doesn't anymore. It might help if I could lower the uv light or raise up where he sits. But I don't have the know how or the means to cobble something together. I'm trying my best, but dealing with some discouraging emotional problems right now.

I'm so sorry that you and Nova are still dealing with something serious. I agree there's something going on there. I can't read all 12 pages but have you had a recent bloodtest done, if so was it posted here ? And when was the last time he pooped. When was the last time he drank or had anything like syringe feeding ?

Me and my family have had some pretty bad experiences at various vets, so no he hasn't had a bloodtest...
He popped twice today, usually he does just once. I've been useing a water dropper to give him water with calcium in it, did so today. I think he's been absorbing it, his poop would be choky if he just expels it right?

I have a nighttime update about Nova. So thats how close I am able to get him to the uv light. Also he seems to like it if I turn of the heat light late in the evening. He appears to be feeling ok up there, but thats not stable unfortunately. I need something large and tall to put in there for him to be closer to the light and also won't fall down.

Hello,

You can try to get another basking limb/branch & connect it to
that one, to make it wider if you are worried about it not being stable enough for him. Has he fallen off of it?
I totally understand. There have been a lot of horror stories about vet visits. There are some good ones that are knowledgeable & can do a blood test professionally. I'm glad that the urates are white & soft. It sounds like you are able to get oral fluids into him, too. Once you work with them enough, they will easily drink water off of a plastic syringe & dropper.
Keep us posted on him!

I'll see what I can find. Today he's the same. Still alert and holds his head up.

Hello,

How is little Nova doing? I am glad he is still alert right now. Try to get oral fluids into him
daily if at all possible to get his hydration status up.
Is he basking for the majority of the day?

Let us know how he is doing.

Hello, he kinda doesn't look so good today. I don't know what else I can do for him. He was getting better for a while, but he's definitely going downward now. This evening I'm going to look for something I can use to get him closer to the uv light or find some way of lowering it. I don't have much material though.

What is the distance from him to the UVB?

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
