I have a pair of leopard geckos that will be nine years old this year. I keep them on a deep dirt substrate with retes stacks. When I clean up the enclosure I dig up and discard the eggs. I have a hard time determining when the female is going to lay because, the way I have them set up, I rarely see them.
Today when I was feeding them I saw a baby in there! Not only did I miss a clutch of eggs, but I missed it enough times for it to cook long enough to hatch. Also the parents didn’t eat him!
So as much as I don’t want another leo (boring) I feel this one has defied death enough times to deserve a long life (opposed to some kid killing him slowly). Thanks for reading.
