i have aabout an 10 month old beardie male he has over the last couple of weeks started being dark bearded all the time his colors are always dark and he dosnt eat all that much he on his one had slowed down eating his live feeders and loves his salad but like i have stated he also has slowed down and dosenot eat all that much aneymore i have thought it might be burmation but he has lost alot of his fat stores in his head and tale so i am a little worriede
If he has lost weight & has lost some or most of the fatpads, it is imperative that you get a fecal done on him to determine if he has parasites or worms. He is technically old enough to brumate, but, being that he is having a little trouble, I would not let him brumate right now.
What type of lighting do you have? What type of UVB do you have, is it a flourescent tube bulb, or a compact or coil? How old is it?
Hm, how warm are your temps then? Maybe you should lower the wattage of the household lightbulb that you are using on the cooler end, it could be too warm in the tank for him to thermoregulate??
How close is the Megaray to him?
The Megaray is a great light & it should last for up to 1 year before it needs to be replaced for optimum UVB output.
Can you post a pic of him? Have you ever gotten a fecal done on him?
