So those of you who know what happened to jacks, thanks for being there. For those of you who dont, our cat got a hold of him and he has 3 small wounds. Two on the belly and one on his neck, he is still alive 24 hours later, but still not looking too good. My big problem is he wont eat or drink, i have been putting crickets in there and the usual but he just is not interested. Any ideas?
just a suggestion but maybe you could try something other than crickets? maybe calciworms or something similar. maybe a better tasting food would entice him a little more. And im very sorry to hear about jacks i dont know what i would do if one of uor cats got dobbie.... they cat would probably be getting a new home
I wouldn't worry about food for now, it'll probably be a couple of days at least before he'll eat again. Concentrate on keeping him hydrated (you can give him a couple mLs of pedialyte orally with a syringe) and warm (maybe increase his nighttime heating as this will help to prevent infection). Try not to move him too much, and maybe see if you can get him on a round of antibiotics.
