How is your boy doing today, any improvements?
I completely agree, it is a long term issue. They get ill slowly & well slowly. However, the liver does have amazing regenerative properties so I know he can do it!
Keep us posted on him.
Is he still on the hepaticare right now or just the milk thistle?
Have you been able to get any greens or green slurries into him?
Time is the main thing, it will take his system awhile to start to regenerate the liver cells.
The primary concerns are just making sure he stays hydrated, as well as a good variety of protein sources. Make sure his diet is relatively low fat for him, too.
Are you keeping him warm overnight also?
He is still on the hepaticare and we are syringe feeding him a mix provided by the vets.
He actually ate a wax worm yesterday. I know we should not be feeding these but it was just to try and spark his appetite again. Any suggestions as to what we do now? Obviously I won't try any further wax worms and have only left his normal greens and 2 locusts. Shall I continue with the syringe feeding or just see how he goes with his food? Would it be better if I blended some greens as supposed to using the mix from the vets? We add nutrobal to this too.
We are bathing him most days with reptoboost. I've upped his night temps to 95. Is that ok?
