Simon has been acting odd lately, and now for the past two days he will sit there with his mouth open and he isn't even warm to the touch. Should I be concerned? I've had a fecal done and everything keeps coming back fine, but he is not acting right....
Gaping is just how they thermoregulate. As long as it's only happening at the basking site, there is nothing to worry about. If it were to be happening on the cool side, then you would want to be concerned.
What are the temperatures in your tank? Basking SURFACE, hot side, cool side?
And what are you using to measure these temps?
He was gaping, when I had him out and while I let him roam my couch and he sometimes does it when I let him rest on me. I did some temp readings with a digital thermometer and I get 103 degrees for his basking, 100 for inside his log under his basking light, 83 on the cooler side, he has been slightly lethargic lately too. This is how he's been looking and his "resting area" is 90 degrees and he lays under his hammock, and sorta sleeps during the day.
