Question for you guys. My girl is somewhere between 5 and 6 months. 15 inches long, and 300g on the button.
Her basking temp is 105-108 depending on where exactly she sits on her basking rock. I'm measuring with a temp gun.
Lately I've noticed that she's not spending quite as much time on her basking rock as she normally would....meaning she used to never move from there unless it was feeding time. Now I notice her moving to the cave portion of her basking rock throughout the day for a "rest". She's not sleeping or anything. Just hanging out.
Now, since this is a recent change in her behavior, it's got me a little concerned. She used to LIVE on that rock, under her basking light.
Do you think it's time to turn the heat down a bit now that she is older? Or do you think this is just normal behavior now that she's a little bit older?
BTW she's under normal household basking lights. She has a reptisun .10 tube. So she's good to go there.
My baby 11inches is doing the same thing.
I just moved her into her 40 gallon breeder.
But her basking temps are the same.
She has been laying next to her basking spot,
and not eating as much.
but she seems fine if i take her out.
she still eats once or twice a day.
mostly just relaxing.
I wouldn't worry about it.
If you think its to hot you can always drop a few degrees. Most dragons and reptiles in general will move back and fourth between the basking spot, hot side and cool side to regulate they're body temp.
