Sigh... Ok... I dropped my uvb bulb... Its been forever and a day since I bought one... I was given this bulb.. Now... I found a exoterra 10.0 Day-Glo (tell me if I am not getting info right please!) on amazing it IS a coil tho... For $7.99 with free shipping from California.. Is that a good price? Less than 24hrs and I done busted a bulb... -facepalm-
Hi,
Don't feel bad, we all have bad days. Unfortunately, Reptiglo bulbs are not the best bulbs for bearded dragons. Any coil bulb is not recommended at all. ReptiSUN 10.0 Florescent tube (long) bulbs are what are ideal for beardies. The bulbs are a bit more expensive, but much healthier and wont hurt your dragons eyes. The fixture can be found at any Wal-mart. I hope this helps you. Good luck!
Thanks, I decided to not get a uvb bulb and instead use Phoenix sunshine 45min a day like another person said. Also, my fiance decided to let me know too late he put a regular 60w bulb in the tank... This is a regular 20gl long reptile tank guessing 12" deep screen top. I have a second fixture so I put another 60w in that as well... Will this provide ample heat? They do have the ability to go to acooler area where there is no light being shined down. I put down cotton pillow cases to absorb warmth on one side, and feel cooler in the other... Is this a good idea? THX IN ADVANCE!
