Yesterday I picked my boy Mitsuki. He glass surfed for about 5 mins after I turned out the light/basking lamp, eventually settling down behind his basking log. The room we stay in is always about 67° but to be safe I bought a night heat lamp, but now he is sleeping in his basking spot under it directly. Will he be okay to sleep there/regulate himself during the night? Also can he see well enough to climb back down at night? Thank you so much in advance. https://imgur.com/a/RQYubJd
You say you bought a kit tank …. unfortunately with these
>>> the uv compact (curly) globe is never adequate (usually they only include a 13W 10% UVB globe , at the very minimum this needs to be exchanged for a 26W UVB200 (10% UVB desert) globe
or
switched over to a T5HO 12%UVB tube about 2/3 the length of the tank in a reflector hood

Aim for about 200 microW UVB / sq.cm at the basking spot.
The UV globe or tube is better mounted UNDER the mesh lid (that comes with these kits), or you can cut a hole in the mesh in the lid so the mesh is not blocking any UV.
I'll go back to the store tomorrow to get proper equipment, if they don't have it in-store will he be okay with set up for a few days while I order it in? Also will he be okay sleeping under the heat lamp? Just super concerned he won't overheat or get to cold.

If it's warmer than 24 degC in the room overnight he'll be fine.
I don't use CHEs in my skink and dragon tanks and tubs. But I live in a tropical coastal area (only 3 km from the south Coral Sea/Tasman Sea in NE coastal NSW in Australia , never known a frost here and my aircon runs 24/7 over winter in reverse cycle set to hold 24degC overnight in my entire home).
I do provide this kind of set up for my dragons and skinks : viewtopic.php?f=75&t=224976&p=1746469&hilit=safe+way+to+use+heatpads#p1746469
My eastern water skinks , bluetongue skinks and bearded dragons have always loved their nice warm hides , especially in winter.
I set the thermostat to hold 36 degC in the warmed tile area for the bearded dragons.
67 won't be harmful at all. It's good to have either a CHE or heat projector if it goes below that though. I use one during the winter. Right now with the heat projector in use (over the cool side controlled by thermostat) it is 70-73 and on the basking area (dark at night) it's around 68-70 or so. It doesn't have to be quite so exact but these ranges work well for me. This is the night bulb I use http://www.reptileuv.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=196 I prefer it over a ceramic heat emitter because it provides a good amount of heat but doesn't get nearly so hot to the touch.
