Hey everybody! New to the group and super excited to learn more about these amazing creatures.

I just recently adopted a 2 year old female. Her name is Lizzy. Based on condition of enclosure when I picked her up and her activity, I do not believe she was well cared for. UVB was about 12” from basking spot and was a coil UVB. So I’m pretty sure she hasn’t been getting any UVB.

First day I had her, she was very social with me (I put her in a warm pouch and had her on my lap during the hour drive home). She let me hold her for a couple of hours and didn’t seem afraid or anything.

Well, fast forward to day 4. I fed her some crickets (about 10 of them) and ever since she is acting scared of me. When I go and try and give her neck rubs, she either backs up and runs away or she will just pancake.

Any thoughts on the sudden change in behavior from the first day I had her vs today? She has spent almost everyday basking. Last night she slept under a plant I have in there and was completely pancaked the entire night.

Thanks in advance and nice to meet y’all!

She is pretty, but does look a little small for two.
She is going through relocation stress. It's perfectly normal. Give her time to settle in. Once she feels secure in her surroundings she'll calm down. It will probably take some time for her to bond with you, that is normal also. Once she does though it will be worth the wait i promiss. 🙂

Welcome :)
100% agreed with what xp29 said. It can take them a few days till they realize they are in fact relocating and not only on a travel. That's probably why she was fine on day one.
Looking forward to that better picture ;)

I have questions about bubbles on our bearded dragons eye.

So he’s gotten bubbles on his eye. We wiped them off and it’s only been twice in the last few weeks. Should we be concerned? No coughing or congestion. He’s very hungry and sleeps well. He’s 8-9 month range. His humidity is 30-40 day time and as high as 50-55 at night to early morning.
Should we be concerned?
