I’m Molly, and this is our new companion Wilson,named after the bff of Dr.House !

Wanted one for years, read about them, and bought him from a petshop (won’t do again) last week. Thought I read enough, I was mistaken lol ! Addicted to this site since last week to be sure our new friend is safe and healthy.

He’s a shy guy, but in a week, I have seen his personality sparks and I know we will
have the best relationship! He already eats from
my hand and let me pet him 🥹

We will DIY his enclosure next weekend and add his backdrop, will change the substrate to something safer and am looking to upgrade his UVB light.

Wilson is a cutie
As far as uvb it is THE most critical aspect of your husbandry. If the pet store sold you the screw in compact bulb it will cause you problems with Wilson.
Beardies need the long tuge type to thrive. The ZooMed 10.0 high output t5 or the Arcadia pro t5 12% desert 🏜 are good options. He needs the proper uvb asap.
As a hatching his basking needs to be 105 to 110 measured with a digital probe thermometer. You can get them from Petsmart for 7 bucks.
Once you get the lighting on point everthing else just kind of falls in place.

Aww, he’s adorable! You guys will fit right in also, I love that series! I haven’t seen it in such a long time, but I have memories of watching House with my family, so that’s really cool that you named your beardie after james

That bulb is a shade dweller and 7% it isn't strong enough for a beardie. The Arcadia are great lights but you need the 12% desert. 24 inches long is sufficient

The tube is all you need. Those coils are awful.
