Hello everyone, just like the tittle says I am new to beardies and reptiles for that matter. I got Stitch, my 1-2 month beardie from a reptile store here in Dallas TX called DFWREPTARIUM about a week ago. He is eating about 20 dubia roaches a day but I am still working on the vegies.
Here's my set up:
Reptisun t5 5.0 on 24" zoomed hood
8.5" basking dome, dimable with a 150w externa daytime heat lamp
CHE for night time next to the basking dome
Cool side temp are between 75-80
Basking side between 95-105
Digital thermometers
Oh and he loves to sit by the screened open window and get some afternoon sun.
Any advice would be greatly apreciated
Hi there....from what I can see [ and what you wrote ] you've done an excellent job on your set up + it sounds like Stitch is doing very well. If he's already settled in enough to eat 20 dubias a day and hang out on the windowsill, then it sounds like he's a happy dragon.
Only thing I can think of is to keep him hydrated by using a syringe or eyedropper to drip water on his snout every 1-2 days to see if he's thirsty. And it may take a while before he goes for veggies, but offer pieces of greens like turnip, mustard, collard, dandelion and at some point he should [ hopefully ] develop an interest in them.
But you've done a great job so far with your new little buddy !
