Well ive decided i want to make a viv for my bd, ive got alot of ideas but would like to know what would be the best wood to use, for the front im making a fold down door so i can have easy access to the whole viv, i want to have a pane of glass on the front, i want the front to look like a picture frame if you understand what im sayin, i want to make a design on the wood around the glass on the front to make it look like you are lookin at a picture. i would also like to build a cabinet for the viv to sit on so i could use it for storage, i want it to be a big viv, prob around 100-120 gallons, what would be the best wood to use, im using wood because i have easy access to a wood workshop my g-pa has who is also going to be helping me, i need to figure a way to get the dimentions to be aroind 100-120 gallons, also since the uvb light should be about half a foot away from him, how could i have a nice size faily deep viv and he still be able to get the right amount of uvb light he needs, any help would be great, thanks in advance
chillinspike, most of us use the Crossfire Enclosure as our blueprint. 48 x24 x24. Most of us also use Melamine as the wood of choice, however any hard wood would do great.
Check out the enclosure thread in photos I think, lots of great ideas out there, and you sound up to the task !
Good luck!
Janie.
