Hello everyone, I am new to having a bearded dragon but they are awesome. There is just no other way to describe them. Our dragons name is Twitch because when we first got him he wouldn't stop jumping around and running from any little sound, but now he is a very alert but calm dragon. He loves to be held and misted.
I am curious tho when we first bought him he was 5-1/2 to 6in we have only had him for about a month now and he has grown to almost 10in! Don't get me wrong we want him to grow but is he growing to fast? Everywhere we look it takes longer for them to get this long.
We built him his very own dragon walk! =D!!! Its just a small piece of wood that reaches to the top of his tank with outdoor carpet nailed to it. He absolutely LOVES IT!!! There are times when he refuses to get off of it. We will post plenty of pictures soon of everything we have done/are doing for Twitch.
Thank you for your time, please post back!
Will do!! I am currently uploading all the photos to Photobucket so I can share them on here. Also my signature is actually Twitch, he was so funny he turned around on his dragon walk and was in attack mode hehe. I am measuring him everyother day and will post new length pix everyweek. Should we buy sand for him? He is currently using Outdoor Carpet from Home Depot. It was extremely cheap I think it was 5 or 6$ ad thats enough Carpet to fill his 40Gal Tank 4 or 5 times over.
This is his tank, as you can see has has everything! He is spoiled! He has a small "Dragon Walk" on the far left he absolutely loves it! In the near future we plan to make a bigger one that will actually be a ledge that will go all around the tank.
He was trying to be stealthy and catch some crickets lol.
This was a week ago he has grown a little since then.
I would stick to the flooring you have. sand harbors bacteria and could risk impaction - slate tile is awesome for filing their nails down and retaining heat. Nice viv you got there. It is very natural for them to grow so fast when they are babies. You blink one week and they are two inches longer!
