Well i have a new enclosure that i am just about done building. Problem is that i didn't realize I may have used the wrong material. It's build out of sanded pine plywood. Now I know from reading different boards that I may have a $300 screw up on my hands or from what i have also read is that as long as it is properly sealed it will be ok. I had initially planned on completely priming and painting the entire thing inside and out. Will this be ok?
Most builds are done with pine ply anyways, as long as it's sealed one way or another it will be fine.
Painting will work, or using a wood sealer will work.
Just make sure that whatever you use has ample time to cure. If you can still smell it off gassing, it's not safe for a reptile yet.
Post up some pictures of your build, we love to see them here.

Ripped some thin strips to dress it up a bit. My father in law has an amazing assortment of wood working tools. Definitely nice to have it available to use. First time doing something like this.
Yeah, having the right tools makes a huge difference. You did a great job for your first time. Looks better than the first one I ever made and I have a whole shop full of tools too lol.

He is really good with wood working. I think my garage cabinets are nicer than the kitchen cabinets. Lol. I had a rough idea, but he fine tuned it and told me what and how to.do.it.
I did pocket holes too for much of the structure. How is the back panel attached? Brads?
I used 3/4 ply all around in all of my builds, so pocketholes and glue is all I used.
Are you going to have sliding doors, or swing open?
Before I attached my face frames, I cut groves in the edges of the wood to act as the track for the glass that way I could use sliding glass without having to use a track I bought seperately. Was worried it wouldn't hold up but has held up exceptionally well.

Looks better than my first, too. (←envy!) :laughing6:
I used ¾" Baltic Birch (5'x5' sheets) and wood screws all over. I think I should have used ½" though--this thing is too heavy! (over 300lbs.) I have ¼" plate glass sliding doors (it was cheaper than plexi here) with plastic tracks.
