I've been lurking around on this site for a few weeks now and decided to join up to show off my tank so far, this is my first bearded dragon but not my first herp. Me and my wife adopted him a few weeks ago and love him so far, hes been a great pet for my children and just a really good calm lizard.
heres my tank so far, we did a slate ledger on the back ground with a slate bottom , all of it has been sealed to the bottom so the slates are permanent. His current lighting is a uvb 10.0 and a exo 150 basking lamp, then on the other side of the tank he has a 100 watt ceramic emitter.
Next week I plan to make an attempt at the foam habitat construction, I want to make better use of his tank vertically.
Congratulations on your first beardie, and welcome to the forum! The stonework is beautiful. Cute dragon, too. Do you use the heat emitter along with the basking bulb?
thanks for the compliments on the tank, as of today no im not using the emitter. When I only had sand in the tank the emitter kept the cool side around 85 and the basking spot was 100 but since I did the stone the temps soared. Since I joined the forum on Saturday I have noticed my dragon not sitting in his usual basking area so today I broke out my ir temp gun and shot the tank. His cool side was around 90 to 95 and his basking area went up to 110 so since the stone went in the temps climbed. Today I turned the emitter off and raised the hood up 6 inches. Now his cool side is about 80 and his basking area is around 93-97 degrees and hes back in his basking spot.
