Have posted this in enclosures and so far 26 views and no replies, so thought I would try here.
Hi all not posted on here for a while, so a quick update.
We have a corn snake called Jez and he is 14yrs old and a BD called Loki who is now 1yr Old so have brumation to look forward too this year.
Anyway I inherited a glass terrarium with measurements of 24" x 18" x 24" just need to get all the lights heat etc. but just need some advice on what I may or may not get to move in.
All suggestions greatly received and thanks in advance.
A good tank needs to be at least 4' by 2' and about 18" high, for BDs anyway.
Other herps you could look into are frogs. I think leopard geckos would be okay in there too.
i would suggest a leopard gecko, they can have quite the little personalities too. plus theyre low maintenance.
also you could try kenyan sand boas, or rosy boas, they dont get too big. as you already have a corn snake i dont think you want another one. you could have a try at some anoles, but theyre mostly just to look at.
another idea is a planted vivarium. I've always wanted to do one of these. everything in the viv is ALIVE!! like live plants and moss and maybe a small fountain, and then i have seen some people add in a small critters like fire belly toads. I've even seen some that look like they were cut out of a pond. they have a small pool of water on the bottom with some little guppies or goldfish, and then they built it up to a moist lanscape where the toads are. it all looks really cool when its flourishing. I'm sure it takes quite the effort, but if your looking for a new project........
