Hello! My beardies name is Zero and is about 4-5 months old. He was 2.5 oz and is about 10 inches long. He has reptisun T10 for his UVB and his basking spot is normally around 100 degrees. His diet consists of crickets, dubia roaches, and Pheonix and Waxworms as a special treat. I recently had given him mealworms because I was not near my normal reptile store and the pet store I live near only had mealworms. His salads consist of collard greens, dandelion leaves, butternut squash, and occasionally carrot and apple. He is a great eater and very active.
BUT... a few days ago I notice a small lump on the base of his spine, by his tail. I hang out with him every day so I noticed it right away. I did a TON of research and am so worried. At first, I thought he might be impacted because of the mealworms but I've given him little baths and messages and he's pooped every day. He's still eating and acting normal and there is no sign of paralysis in the back legs. Now I'm worried he has metabolic bone disease because one of the employees at the reptile store said its unlikely impaction would cause a lump there. I also got him at Petco (I know, not great) but right after getting him, I did so much research so as soon as he got home he had all the correct lighting, substrate, and vitamins (info I found via a reputable reptile store near my apt and forums).
I am going to post pictures of him and his tank. I've stressed myself out so much that now I think he might have swollen limbs too, but I might just be overthinking. ANY RESPONSE HELPS!
