okay so yesterday i went to a reptile expo and on impulse i bought an eastern collared lizard (frankie). she is super sweet and cute but theres one problem, my beardie (pinky) that ive had for several months is very jealous and does not like frankie. pinky is very spoiled and is not used to this. they are not in the same tank but pinky sees her in my room while im holding him and he wont eat his food and keeps going over to frankies tank, resulting in pinkys neck turning black and him trying to eat her !!! does anyone have any tips on helping pinky adjust to the new lizard and not be so crazy ???
They might get used to eachother in time but that's not a guarantee. The best thing to do is probably to keep them separated and out of sight as much as possible if it is causing a heated reaction like that.
I agree, there is never a guarantee that your dragon will get used to the new addition. They
can sometimes adapt but not always. For now, just keeping him from seeing your new collard
lizard should help. Can you close the door or block it off more to hide the view?
