Just thought I'd intoduce myself. i just got a new very small dragon yesturday. ive had a dragon before but i had to sell it. but my current set up is a 20Gal tank(screen lid), 75 watt ZooMed Basking Spot Lamp, Reptilite Calcium Substrate(bag says its 100% edible an readily digestable)
i also have Cal-Stron for powdering the crickets an other foods.
im going to be getting a much larger tank for Dino in the fall when i get the 2nd half of my national guard bonus. and will also be adding in things to climb on an such this sunday because someone is giving me some free perches an stands.
Welcome, another Dino eh? Very cute name! You may wanna check out the "Enclosures" category to get an idea of optimum setup for your little guy. Glad you stopped by, can't wait to see pics
my girlfriend named him dino. i have been looking all over this site its pretty cool. its givin me some good ideas... i really wanna make tank after lookin around in the DIY section
have you read that the calcisand can be harmful? I'm no pro in ANY way but everyone told me to use paper towels. I guess the sand can stop them up...if you know what I mean WHat kind of UVB bulb are you using?
that's a good light, just make sure the temp directly on the surface of the backing spot under it is around 105 to 110. Also, that light does not produce UVB, which he needs to produce calcium. A good one is zoomed reptisun10.0 UVB tube light. DOn't get the coil types as they do more harm than good. Just lettin u know cause I went through a lot of money on bad stuff till I was told what the right things were...I think I've about got it right now
ya before when i use to had a dragon i didnt pay much attention its tank an whatnot. just got whatever the petstore lady said id need. but now im reading about it an all that blah blah. lol
By the way, what branch did you join? My husband has 6 months left of AFNG. Paid for all his schooling and worst trip was Guam...3 weeks of paid vacation is what I call it... haha!
im in the national guard. i joined my JR year of highschool did basic the summer before my sr year an did AIT after i graduated. now i just go to the monthly unit drills.
