This is my new Beardie Thor. He was a rescue. This is his before/after pic. This is the difference of only 1 week. I've been bathing him, taking him outside and feeding him bugs daily. He's pooping, basking and showing off his colors!!
So special that you were able to rescue a bearide, most people opt for the babies.. keep posting pics as his weight improves, but the 2nd pic looks amazing compared to the 1st.. how far apart in time were the 2 pics?? He looks pretty happy in the 2nd, keep on doing what you're doing for him and you'll both be happy..
This is only 5 days difference!! I cant believe it! He was really dehydrated and he plumped up really qyuick after a few baths. He is still pretty skinny, i dont have a s,ale so i dont have a weight, but im trying to get him to the vet on thursday, so I'll get his weight then. The uvb is the difference in his coloring I think. He really lightens up after 30 mins in the sun. His fixture should be here today or tomorrow, so I'm excited to see the difference once he's getting the right lighting all the time.
Glad your giving him baths, one of the healthiest things you can do for your beardie and Wow!! 5 days, you should feel good he's responding to your care, it shows..
Thanks! I do enjoy seeing him progress. Im hoping for a shed. He was really dirty when I got him and I think he will get even better looking after shedding. I am struggling with his temps though. Im not sure why. I have no trouble keeping Loki's basking area between 98 and 102 depending on the time of day, but I have to have Thor's light almost all the way down to keep it under 110. I think I'm going to get a lower wattage bulb tomorrow. I have a 100 basking bulb in there at the moment and I'm thinking that maybe it's too high with his viv being underneath Loki's.
