hello im new to the beardie community and I'm nervous something ids wrong with my dragon ( bean ) he eats crickets and I always have salad for him, his temps are normal but i feel like hes dehydrated. he eats salad everyday and i mist him a couple times a week since he hates baths but idk if I'm doing something wrong? can anyone give me some advice ?
Bean needs a digital probe thermometer in his tank for correct basking temps- and what is Beans UVB? Are you using a MVB ? What is in the other dome?

im using the thrive desert UVB bulb is a 26 watt it came with his new tank. and i have a digital i just didnt know which were better, i will switch is back. he is also getting ready to shed on his back and head so idk if that has to do with anything
Please get rid of the Thrive UVB - the only one I know that is ok I am not a fan of coil UVB's so if you want to stay w/ the coil switch to a Reptisun ---- here is some info on the 26 watt
The 26w version of the UVB150 is similar in output to a T8 tube when using a reflector. The beam isn't as wide (depending on the length of the tube) but the output strength is very similar. If it was sitting about 6-8'' above the main basking area then it was likely providing adequate UVB. It's the lower wattage (13w) versions that cause concern since they aren't strong enough to provide adequate UVB at a safe distance.
I would recommend getting a 24" fixture w/ reflector and a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 --- they are the best on the market at this time -- you can look here https://www.reptilesupplyco.com/wholesale-reptile-hoods-domes-fixtures/1884-reptisun-terrarium-hood-t5-24-zoo-med.html
this bulb https://www.reptilesupplyco.com/t5-uvb-bulbs/1878-reptisun-100-uvb-t5-ho-fluorescent-bulb-22-zoo-med.html
I would get the digital probe thermometer for actual basking temps--- you can get those at petco or petsmart $8

I’ve always been confused about all the lighting. So I know I need a basking build that reaches 95-105 F and a UVB for the cool side ? What do u use or recommend bulb wise? I have a bunch of different light bulb holders.
Please get your basking temps correct and get the UVB straightened out --- here is a website for nutrition http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html ignore the kale thing its a good staple feeder-
Please get your lighting correct or Bean will stop eating all together --- this two things are the most important thing in the tank
Karrie
Let me know what you decide for the UVB --- the one you have now where its sitting is not doing any good the screen is blocking 30% of the rays and I am not about those Thrive bulb out puts --- please get rid of it

set up the thermometer basking temp looks good, gunna go to the store to look for the uvb light u suggested. little tight on money at the moment ( in college) but i will do the best i can thank u for ur help. if i cant afford the one you mentioned, is there something i should be looking for specifically? no coils but like a certain type of watts for the UVB
