Welcome to the forum! It's exciting to have a new little buddy but there is a lot to learn about them as you go along. It's OK that he ignores dead bugs. The live ones are better because you can keep them
hydrated on veges to ensure they're providing good nutrients and plenty of
hydration. Be sure you're dusting them with calcium.
For veges, kale is OK when mixed as part of a salad but I'd offer some other greens like collard and turnip and dandelion greens as well. There is a good list to reference for salad ideas here
