Hello everyone, I have a baby bearded dragon about two months old. The pet store never seems to know what they’re talking about. They said five crickets a day and only veggies three times a week. Well after doing a bit of research I’m seeing that that is way too less for a baby beard. He needs protein and I was seeing people saying that they feed their baby dragons three times a day and as many as they will eat within 10 to 15 minutes and fresh veggies every day they will eat it. What should I do? He don’t seem to like crickets it’s a hit or miss but loves dubias.
You want balance. I fed my baby twice a day at first 10 to 20 dubias. She has salad every day. If she eats it, it gets refilled. She bigger now so i feed her once per day 10 or so dubias and 3 or 4 superworms.
All beardies any age should have salad everday btw.
I plan to cut my baby back on bugs a little she's getting chunky. Overweight is bad also, thats why I said balance. Dust with calcium once per day every day. Multivitamins 2 to 3 times per week (with the calcium).
I saw in your other post you have a compact uvb. Replace it with a long tube ASAP. It's critical for babies, they are in full growth mode and need uvb. Since your using the compact dust with calcium that has d3 to try to offset the poor uvb. Once you have the uvb correct you won't need d3, they'll produce their own. It's triggered by the uvb. Calcium is essential to their development. They WILL develop metabolic bone disease without proper uvb. It's incurable.
